Our event will feature a cocktail hour and dinner, a keynote speech given by actor and singer Demetria McKinney, a Dutch auction where you can sponsor a service provided by the WRC, and a special musical performance by Demetria McKinney to end our night. All money received through ticket sales and the auction will go directly to support programs and client services at the WRC. About Demetria
Demetria McKinney is a true powerhouse multi-hyphenate. As an actor, she can most recently be seen as a series regular on Eliot Laurence’s hit Freeform series “Motherland: Fort Salem” which wraped production on her final season. She can also be seen as a series regular on the CW series “Winchesters”. Concurrently, Demetria recurs on both UMC’s “A House Divided” and BET+’s “House of Payne” both from the legendary Tyler Perry. Additional credits include a lead role on SyFy’s “Superstition”, a heavy arc on “The Quad” for BET, as well as the distinct honor of portraying Whitney Houston in the 2017 film. “Bobbi Kristina”. On stage, Demetria has portrayed Coretta Scott King in “I Dream” as well as ‘Deena Jones’ in “Dreamgirls”. Musically, the acclaimed singer-songwriter released her debut album Officially Yours in October 2017 on EOne to widespread fanfare. Demetria is based in Atlanta.
