MEET our past speakers

April Hernandez - castillo
The theme for our 2022 Gala was "Purple With A Purpose". Our keynote speaker was actor, author, and advocate April Hernandez-Castillo. She shared with us how her experience with teen dating violence led to her finding her purpose in becoming a speaker and advocate.
Elizabeth Smart
The theme for our 2021 Gala was "An Evening of Hope". Our keynote speaker was author, speaker, and survivor Elizabeth Smart. After being abducted as a child for 9 months she was found by the police and safely returned to her family. She now shares her story and emphasizes that "hope always exists to find every missing child."
Senator Rob Standridge
The theme for our 2019 Gala was "Kentucky Derby". Our keynote speaker was Senator Rob Standridge. Senator Standridge has worked at a legislative level to combat domestic violence in Oklahoma.
Lori Walke
In 2018 our keynote speaker was Rev. Dr. Lori Walke, J.D.. Known for having a passion for social justice and public good. Lori is a strong advocate for the 2SLGBTQ+ community and lent her voice to the Women's March on Oklahoma in 2017 offering an invocation of resistance and solidarity.
Leslie Morgan steiner
In 2017 our keynote speaker was Leslie Morgan Steiner. Leslie Morgan Steiner is an author, consultant, and thought leader on women's leadership, work-life balance, inspirational parenting, overcoming adversity and surviving violence against women.
Ed Harris
In 2016 our keynote speaker was actor Ed Harris. He is best known for his performances in Apollo 13, The Truman Show, and Pollock. In addition to our Gala he spoke with students from The University of Oklahoma, and attended our showing of Pollock at The Sam Noble Museum.
